Jantar Mantar:-

When you come to Jaipur one the must-do thing is to visit Jantar Mantar. It’s an old astronomical site and there are only a few like this in India. It’s important to come here and appreciate our history of science as well. Jantar Mantar is made of two words. The first word ‘Jantar’ means an instrument and is derived from Sanskrit, ‘Mantar’ means to calculate. Earlier I used to think that Jantar Mantar had something to do with magic, but that’s not at all the case. This is a very scientific place. There are many scientific calculations done here related to astronomy. Measuring time of the day is the most straightforward of them all. This was used to calculate planetary positions, seasons and lots of other things. This place also shows the level of advancement of science back in the days.

Hawa Mahal:-

This is close to the City Place, and you can buy a common ticket and see them all. Hawa Mahal is inspired by another palace called ‘Khetri Mahal’ which is a Shekhawati Haveli. It’s a beautiful haveli in Rajasthan itself. The landmark part of the palace is the back side, which is inspired by the family deity of the king Lord Krishna. It looks like the crown of Sri Krishna. It’s called Hawa Mahal for an interesting reason. The queen and their servants used to sit here and watch the life pass by below from the back side of the palace. Additionally, it’s designed in a way that cool breeze here.
