Description in Shri Champakadhama Swamy:-

One of the beautiful places. From the bus stop of Bannerghatta to the temple the are is very peaceful and there is ample amount of space near the temple for 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler parking. Around the temple too many  monkeys are there to see. The temple architecture is awesome. Inside the temple Lord Vishnu statue is mesmerizing, like the other temples the offerings to the god, puja archana costs are there. From the right side of the entrance goddess Lakshmi temple is there. Very calm place with spiritual essence. Around 11:30 Prasad will distributed to the devotees. Once Darshan is completed from inside the temple the steps route from Champakadham temple to lord Laxminarsimha temple. Near the steps entrance there is a lord Ganesha temple and Navagraha temple and also for puja archana near steps all the samagri selling will be there. So, can have puja, archana and then can start for the steps, the steps way one can cross about 20 -25mins. On the top hill from the end of the steps the lord Narasimha temple entrance will be visible. This place at the early morning and during set will the very beautiful. This temple is peaceful and spiritual. This place is one of the must recommended place for the family visit.

From the champakadham temple about 2-3 km there is another famous temple Shri Khatu Shyam temple. This temple architecture is awesome and the place is filled with spirituality and divine. There also you will find the parking facility for 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler. Timings to visit the temple 8:15 to 13:30 and 15:15 to 21:00. There is no entry fees in the temple. At 13:00 to 13:30 there will arti Puja to Khatu Shyam and the inside area of Khatu Shyam will be closed upto 15:15, after re-opening again arti Puja. In weekend crowd will be more try to visit on weekdays. After Darshan, Prasad will be distributed to the devotees. There is a small story of Mahabharata for the existence of this temple. Baba Khatu Shyam name is the name given by Shri Krishna, there name was Barbarik. Grandson of pandav putra bheem and son of ghatotakach. he was a bigger devotee of goddess Maha Maya Devi. After looking at his devotion towards goddess maha Maya, goddess gave him a boon. The boon was the three arrows, one will mark the region of attack, another will mark the target and the third one will hit the target. Because of this boon he was unbeatable, after understanding this story from Barbarik Shri Krishna asked not to take part in the Mahabharata fight. Then by self wish he donated is head to Shri Krishna. Then shri renamed him as Khatu Shyam.
